In line with its commitment to fair and equitable compensation, North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) ensures that all staff and faculty are paid at least the local living wage. The National Budget Circular No. 594 from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), effective January 1, 2024, outlines the updated salary schedule for civilian personnel, including employees at State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) like NEMSU.
This salary schedule sets standardized compensation levels for government employees, ensuring that faculty and staff are paid competitive and sustainable wages. By adhering to the living wage standards, NEMSU guarantees that its employees receive compensation that supports their basic living needs.

On September 27, 2024, the NEMSU Faculty Union and NEMSU Management successfully sealed the Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA), reinforcing their commitment to faculty rights, self-organization, and mutual respect. This agreement ensures that both parties continue to collaborate in creating a supportive and fair working environment for faculty members, upholding their rights in line with university policies.
Later, on October 23, 2024, the NEMSU Faculty Union held its General Assembly and conducted the Election of Officers. This event was an important moment for faculty members to come together, address key issues, and elect new leadership to represent their collective interests within the union.
