1.2.1 Low Income Students Receiving Financial Aid
North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) provides access to higher education for low-income students through the implementation of Republic Act 10931 (Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act), which covers tuition and miscellaneous fees. For Academic Year 2023–2024, a total of 31,290 enrollees benefited from this program.
In addition, 2,596 students received substantial supplementary financial assistance through externally funded programs and support from government agencies, private institutions, and other stakeholders. These include the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES), Tulong Dunong Program (TDP), CHED CSP, Full and Half SSP, PBA Partylist, TUCP Partylist, CoScho Program, BFAR Scholarship, UCPB CocoFoundation, NCIP, and various Local Government Units (LGUs). This information is documented in the NEMSU Medium-Term Development Plan 2025–2030 (p. 37), underscoring the university’s commitment to ensuring that financially disadvantaged students have equitable opportunities to pursue and complete tertiary education.
