NEMSU’S COMMITMENT TO A CARBON NEUTRAL UNIVERSITY

North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) affirms its commitment to achieving carbon neutrality through its institutional Sustainability Policy. On Page 5 under Strategic Pillars and Objectives for Sustainable Campus Operations, NEMSU outlines concrete actions to align with the Greenhouse Gas Protocols.

Objective C commits to promoting sustainable transportation and mobility for students and staff through measures such as campus shuttles, bicycle lanes, and carpool incentives—practical strategies aimed at reducing carbon emissions from daily operations.

Objective E mandates the development of a Carbon Management Plan that will progressively reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with global climate targets. This initiative provides the framework for NEMSU to establish a clear roadmap toward carbon neutrality, ensuring that the university contributes meaningfully to climate action and sustainability.
