Elpa National High School Supreme Secondary Learner Government Officers—the University helped reinforce the preservation and sustainable management of this critical resource.
6.5.3. Sustainable Water Extraction on Campus
Northeastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) – Bislig Campus leads the way in sustainable water extraction practices, prioritizing the responsible and efficient use of natural water resources. The campus sources its water from a natural spring located within the surrounding forest, utilizing advanced technologies and infrastructure that focus on sustainability, conservation, and accessibility.
The natural water spring (depicted below) serves as the primary water source. To preserve the ecological balance and water quality, the spring is carefully managed to prevent over-extraction. Protective vegetation around the spring further helps to reduce contamination risks.
